This Yoga and Ayurveda workshop is open to all students with some previous yoga experience.

Participation in Friday evening is a required prerequisite for either Saturday or Sunday if you have no previous experience of Ayurveda or have taken a dosha test recently.

Saturday 21. 10am - 4pm:

Introduction to Ayurveda: Determining Your Constitution. What is Vata, Pitta and Kapha? Learn how to determine your individual constitution according to Ayurveda, and how to make some simple adjustments in food and lifestyle for vibrant health.

Yoga for your Ayurvedic body type. We will explore how to do Vata reducing, Pitta reducing, and Kapha reducing yoga. Learn practical ways to improve your yoga practice according to your individual constitution.

Sunday 22, 10am - 1pm: Yoga for Women's Health.

Why is it important for a woman to change her yoga practice according the time of her ovulation and menstrual cycle? Learn to use Ayurvedic principles on how to live according to a women's natural life cycle, including yoga during the stages of the menstural cycle and menopause, and the basics on how to address imbalances during PMS and difficult periods.

About Susan Pulley:

Ayurvedic Clinician, Therapist and Instructor

Susan is the founder of ATMA Ayurveda where she specializes in creating personalized wellness plans using the powerful Ayurvedic tools of nutrition, lifestyle, herbs, yoga and other Ayurvedic clinical treatments, such as channel cleansing massage and marma therapy. She teaches for the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies in Amsterdam, and offers workshops and trainings in Yoga and Ayurveda.

She studied Ayurveda included studies and clinical practicum at the Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico with Dr. Vasant Lad and Dr. Claudia Welch. But her fascination with Ayurveda began years before in Karnataka, India, where she studied rural women’s use of medicinal plants alongside the local Shodhini women’s herbalism group.

Susan has a life-long enthusiasm with self-exploration, and is delighted that yoga practice is the perfect vehicle for this. After all, every time you come to your yoga mat there is a meeting of the mind and body—providing fertile ground for transformation!

A long-time classical Hatha yogini and instructor since 2005, Susan’s approach to yoga became infused with Ayurveda when training with Chitra Giaque in 2006. Ayurvedic Yoga emphasizes individualizing yoga for each body type, season and imbalance. It’s a transformative tool to address issues of the body & mind and for healing.
